QuickBooks Online not working?

QuickBooks Online screenshot of downtime issues

QuickBooks Online occasionally breaks. It's not that often, fortunately, but it does happen. Here are some steps to go through to troubleshoot if you just can't login.

  1. Did you pay the electricity bill? Growing up poor, the utilities being turned off likely meant the bill was not paid. First, make sure you don't have a bounced ACH payment to Intuit.
  2. If your account is current, try looking at the maintenance website for Intuit. Is there a glitch at the moment? The status website is pretty good at posting current downtime issues.
  3. Next, try opening QBO in an Incognito window. If this doesn't work, it may require a customer service call.
  4. Is it a login issue? Intuit does have a few self-service recovery options here.
  5. Last, if all else fails, try the customer service phone number, since chat won't work if you are not logged in. The number is 1-800-4INTUIT.
